Booty Bandit
Booty Bandit is a 2.5D side scroll brawler/action/adventure game. The story line follows Captain Goldwater and his crew on a quest to redeem their local bar, wenches and stolen treasure. During development, I paper-mapped an early concept and grayboxed the level. Later on, I designed the levels and sets by placing the models that have been created by the artists where they would make sense. While doing this, i would prototype the game play, assuring everything was in working order and making sure the spawns worked right as well. The project was also been stored in Assemblas SVN project management program.
This is an example of early grayboxing for the Docks level. I used Unity to see how long a brawling level would take. I also did an assessment to see where sets should be place in the level to places, where the enemies should go and where should the player's fight the enemies.
This is another example of an early paper map concept for the docks level. However, it was changed in order to give the player a better view of the level.
This is the latest look of the game. With a fully textured environment, buildings, and sets (barrels, tables, etc.). Bookmarks are in place, so when the player reaches a section of the level, the camera locks in which will let the player know that there is a battle about to begin.
